Minister of music
Zion Baptist Church is seeking to fill a part-time position of Minister of Music. Our church, established in 1898, has been a constant place of worship in the historic Johnathan Street area. The Church has two worship services on Sundays that include both modern praise songs and traditional hymns led by our praise ministry and choirs. We are looking for a Minister of Music to lead our church choirs, coordinate our Instruments of Praise (percussion, bass, etc.), initiate and train new music and song selections appropriate for worship, and be fully engaged in our Church congregation.
Qualifications:
- Education in music
- Experience in teaching/conducting vocal and instrumental music
- Ability and willingness to work with people of all ages in providing vocal and instrumental music as part of worship
- Familiarity with audio/video/recording systems and presentation software
- Understand the Old and New Testaments of Scripture as the inspired, infallible Word of God
- Understand the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ
- Affirm agreement with the doctrine of this Church
Expectations:
- Lead weekly rehearsals for the music ministry
- Attend Sunday Worship services and other services requiring music ministry
- Collaborate with members of the music ministry
- Be accountable to the Pastor of Zion Baptist Church

Media Ministry Associate
Zion Baptist Church is seeking to fill a part-time position working with our Media Ministry. Our church, established in 1898, has been a constant place of worship in the historic Johnathan Street area. The Church has two worship services on Sundays that this associate would attend and provide the technical support required for our worship services.
We are currently looking for an individual proficient in audio and visual systems to serve as a member of our Media Ministry. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of audio and visual equipment and be capable of operating the on-site system. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining studio equipment, monitoring audio levels during live broadcasts, and having the ability to quickly troubleshoot technical issues with the sound system.
The associate would also record church events, teachings, and sermons, which are made available on DVD and for viewing on the internet, social media platforms, and on the church website.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with audio and media equipment
- Operate, test, improve, set up, maintain, and regularly inspect all audio equipment prior to and during live services and events
- Monitoring of audio levels during services and for recorded events
- Lead ministry members with visual, computer graphics, and other lighting tasks to ensure all are in sync
- Ability to learn software and systems as necessary
Expectations:
- Attend weekly services and other services when the church is open
- Collaborate with members of the media ministry
- Be accountable to the leaders and Pastor of Zion Baptist Church
